Our
History
The Lord's church in Plainfield
had its beginning May 23, 1954. The congregation met for the
first time in the basement of the city library on South Center
Street. The work began with 58 members. February 27, 1955, the
church conducted their first worship service in a new building
at the corner of Lawndale and Buchanan.
The church at Plainfield
has been blessed with many faithful Christians and has grown
over the years. On March 22, 1992, the first worship service
was held in the current building on Township Line Road. After
ten years, the church found it necessary to add more auditorium
and classroom space. The new expansion was completed January
2002.
With Gospel preaching
and the leadership of good elders, the church has grown to a
current membership of over 300. Our prayer is that we will remain
a strong and faithful church of the Lord. We pray that through
our lives and teaching, God's Word may spread throughout this
community.
